Day 14 Seedings
20210809 Monday 7.45 am
PH Happy 56th National Day Singapore, just want to say THANK YOU!
Day 12 Seedings
20210807 Saturday 8.45 am
Forgotten to check yesterday. Today I noticed that the water in the tray is dried out.
Top up water to the full tray. The sponges flouted a bit. It is okay.
It is better to transfer them to the hydroponic system cells at least 30 days after their sprouting.
Day 8 Seedings 20210803 Tuesday Morning
After moving out those sponges with buds / tiny leaves/foliage, the sprouted seeds, let the rest of sprouting seeds continue to germinate at its seedings station under an airy, clean, cooling, dark n quiet environment, perhaps you may like to give them good music?
(A) The left-hand side with a round notch hole which makes it easier to place the seed(s) sitting on top inside the notch hole.
Day 7
GERMINATING / SPROUTING SEEDS
20210802 Monday
I like to cover all those things up properly with nets.
Otherwise, those seeds may just disappear overnight by themselves.
I do think they might have got eaten away by birds or lizards.
Not too sure how they taste like ♡ > ° < ¿
Day 7 Seedings 20210802 Monday
These nets were my collection during my Bali Tour 10 years ago.
Now since all suffering from the bad COVID pandemic, so probably cannot go anywhere else, hence, it's good to create as many in-house n fruitful activities at home.
Just do a bit each day, learn a bit each day, and improve a bit each day, we create a much better life for ourselves and for others.
Remember to do a "1-second peep/check" daily to ensure the water level does not fall below 1/2 of the sponges during hot weather.
Indeed, after the first time setting,, with this whole set of
it does not really take up much of my time and efforts, basically is all lazy waiting time.
waiting to grow,
waiting to harvest,
waiting to duplicate ... day 2 ... day 6 ...
20210727 Monday Morning
DAY 1
SEEDINGS and MY SEEDING STATION
Select an airy, clean, cooling (best at 16°C to 24°C if possible) with a suitable temperature environment for germinating / seedings.
SEEDINGS
Soak all Hydroponic Nursery Sponges,
Press out all the air in the sponges let them fully absorb water.
Pour out all the excess water.
20211123 Tuesday 0500 quiet morning
Start putting in the seeds.
Lightly press each seed to each gap, gently, to prevent the seeds from being eaten away by lizards 🦎, and birds; also to prevent seeds from being washed away while spraying water.
A small tray of 7 x 4 = 28 sponges, three seeds each, a total of 81 seeds here.
Two types of sponges:
Get one coffee stirrer from the McDonald's / Coffee Beans / Star-Buck coffee:
Use a tiny scoop to put one (or few) seed(s) into the center of each sponge.
Ensure water touches < half the height of the sponge.
Ensure water touches < half the height of the sponge.
(B) The right-hand side type is bigger with proper cuts.
Need to press a bit to push in the seed(s) so they will not be dropping all over the places.
I like this type of sponge I can grow three seedlings at the same time.
Both are comfortable to me and they are functioning/performing equally well.
Not all the seeds will sprout.
Depends on the freshness, the types of seeds you have, and whether it's the correct temperature and environment.
Fill up the tray with clean water, need to have 2/3 height of all sponges covered/soaked/submerged in the water.
Check the water level daily to ensure that the water does not get evaporated too fast. Spray or Sprinkle water before they fully dry out.
Here in Singapore, the daily temperature throughout the year ranges from 29°C (room temperature) to 33°C (outdoor) can dry up the water quite easily. (I add Ice cubes try to bring down the temperature.) Raining season room temperature can go down to 26°C. Hence it's good to germinate seeds during the cold season.
Cover up the whole thing with a net to prevent birds n lizards from eating away my seeds.
Cover up the whole thing with a piece of black cloth.
Place the whole thing in a clean, cooling n dark place with good ventilation/airflow for a few days.
Move to exposure under the sunlight or 24 hours LED lights for photosynthesis after their buds/leaves start coming out (it takes about at least 7 to 14 days or sometimes even 21 to 28 days). if after 28 days they still do not sprout, likely they would not. Dispose of them in the garden soil beds then.
Once completed this setup, keep repeating and using it whenever necessary.
So, okay, this small little private enclosed space is "MY SEEDLINGS STATION".
oh yes, need to Google and find out what type of temperature is suitable for which/different types of seeds/plants.

VERTICAL FARMING:
Day 1 to day 28 seedlings for a hydroponic system.
Germinating and Seedings for my aeroponic hydroponic system.
20200913 Seedlings
It's good to test the concentration of the nutrients in different batches before putting all of them into the hydroponic system.
